2026 seems to be the Year of the Carpenter for me.

This year alone, I've been learning to use:
* a table saw (sierra de mesa)
* miter saw (sierra inglete)
* router (fresadora) - compact and regular size,
* and even learned to cut (mostly) straight lines using an angle grinder (amoladora) - and have actually cut ceramic tile this way - no guide used to help keep the line straight.

Ok, I already use the angle grinder, but never like this before. But cutting straight lines is definitely a new skill, though I still try to use a guide as much as possible.

I am also working to learn to solder so I can install LED strip lights. I have the basic concept, and have a soldering iron. Just need the solder and the lights to practice with. Oh yeah, and time. I need time.

It would be great to connect with others who enjoy woodworking, cabinetry, and using FreeCAD, or other CAD apps, like LibreCAD and QCAD, for design.

The Towers Bridge bypass at Huachipa, on the outskirts of Eastern Lima is now open both ways, alleviating a major traffic bottleneck and completing a key portion of an alternative to PerΓΊ's Caraterra Central.

It literally saved (at least) 40 minutes on a round-trip between Santa Eulalia and Santa Anita/Ate.

I was helping my community clean up the causeway used for redirecting mudslides (huaicos). That would be me on the far right with orange sleeves.

Starting to work on new tool cabinet design in FreeCAD. Currently just using the spreadsheet to setup variables before I start actually drawing.

I really want to set the finished product dimensions, and use variables to determine drawer sizes (by type) and their placement. I can do something like:
* Drawer_Deep_Wide (>= 20 cm deep)
* Drawer_Medium_Wide
* Drawer_Shallow_Wide
* Drawer_Shallow_Narrow (to place 2 drawers side by side

and so forth.
